Charles van Doren
In 1950s a new show was launched called Twenty-One in which two contestants - a champion and a challenger - competed against each other for money. At first the show was not successful until a challenger Charles von Doren won and became the champion for weeks. He became a celebrity and was on the covers of magazines. But that didn't last long, he was accused of cheating in the show. In the end he confessed his quilt.
Michael Larson
The show calles Press your luck is all about being lucky and has nothing to do with knowledge. The show was on air 1983-1986 and was not a huge success. Michael Larson discovered that the boxes in the game were not actually random. The watched the show many times in order to learn the patterns and then went on the show and won a lot of money. The show at first accused him of cheating and didn't want to hand him the money, but Larson proved he was right and got his money in the end.
Major Charles Ingram
Who wants to be a millionaire? is one of the most popular TV shows in Britain. It has had a lot of contestants but the most famous one is Major Charles Ingram, who answered all of the 15 questions right. The TV crew became suspicious and thought Ingram was cheating. The police begun an investigation and Ingram was found quilty.
